Wendy Bernfeld will present a dedicated workshop/new media training session for producers in international coproduction context, to bring a new media awareness into their co-productions and distribution planning. After a macro overview of new media video launches this year, we look into the evolving business models, and related rights aspects affecting producers/coproducers across various platforms. Some case studies of production just for web/mobile are considered, as well as productions designed to be exploited cross platform. Illustrations are canvassed, based on different new media modes of exploitation including download to own (e.g. iTunes), or VOD (whether to TV or PC), and whether on a free (ad-vod), subscription (svod) , transactional (ppv/tvod) or other consumer business model.
