“The Digital Landscape for Indie and Art-house Film:– Balancing Traditional vs New Media Platforms, Windows and Deals”,
Wendy Bernfeld, Rights Stuff M.D, presents a concrete snapshot of recent launches on, and licensing trends regarding, the web, mobile/tablets, IPTV, and consumer electronics internationally. What films will these platforms buy, and on what business and consumer models? And which of them will pre-fund or commission new material? How can filmmakers balance their traditional buyers/funding sources and usual comfort-zone dealings against these new media platforms,
taking into account the rights complexity and backdrop of blurring ‘windows’, delivery means, and devices (such as IPADS, ‘connected tv’s etc). What VOD and other opportunities are out there now, to bring new life to past catalogues, and for new media production (webisodes, mobisodes and cross platform/transmedia programs)?
After her talk, Wendy will be joined by David Pope of Advance Films for Q&A and audience discussion.
