In November, Wendy Bernfeld participated with other industry experts as an international jury member for the Canada Media Fund (Digital) . Results were just announced per official press release November 27 as follows:
"...15 interactive digital media projects received a total of $10 million in funds as part of the second round of production support from the Experimental Stream. The Experimental Stream encourages the development of innovative, interactive digital media content and software applications.
Of the projects receiving support, three are from British Columbia, one is from Manitoba, seven are from Ontario, one is from Prince Edward Island, two are from Quebec, and one is from Saskatchewan. Earlier this year, the CMF provided $14 million in funds to 25 projects who applied for production support. Combined with this round of funding, the CMF, in its third year, has already provided more than $69 million in funding to 127 projects for production support.
Production support provides funding for the creation of a final, market-ready version of an eligible project and preliminary marketing and commercialization activities.
For projects at the production stage, the innovation and production team criteria were assessed by a jury of Canadian and international industry specialists: Wendy Bernfield (Amsterdam, Netherlands); Carl-Frédéric de Celles (Quebec City, Canada); Guy Gadney (Sydney, Australia); Lucie Lalumière (Toronto, Canada); Laurent LaSalle (Montreal, Canada); Siobhan O’Flynn (Toronto, Canada); Britta Schell (San Francisco, USA); Michelle Sklar (Calgary, Canada); and, Rogerio Soares (Sao Paulo, Brazil).
In the next few weeks, the CMF will announce projects receiving funds for development support and marketing support from the Experimental Stream.
